WHY USE SENTRY FUEL TREATMENTS ?
WATER
Nothing causes more damage to equipment than the water contamination that exist in all fuel systems. Water contributes to Rust, Corrosion, Microbial Growth, Phase Separation, Fuel Gelling and Freezing. One drop of water can destroy an injector, microscopic particles of water can destroy an injector pump as much as a single ounce of water can render your fuel useless and destroy an entire engine.

All fuel treatment manufacturers make claims to Disperse, Remove, Repel and do other things to water. And to a certain degree they all do something to the water content of the fuel, but in many cases what they do is cause more harm than good and at the very best, cause you to use additional services to resolve a water contamination problem.

Sentry fuel treatments unique adaptive hydrocarbon technology make them the only COMPLETE fuel treatments available on the market today. They have time tested and proven positive effects on all fuel problems. Sentry Treatments eliminate all Fuel / Water problems, Increase Lubrication and Stabilize fuel.

Traditional fuel treatments fall into two major categories when it comes to their treatment of water.

Surfactants
Cause suspended and dissolved water to sink to the bottom of the tank. The recommended treatment is to then, Drain The Tank, Pump Out The Water or Polish The Fuel. All of which are very costly and only partially effective. Can you even drain your tank? Now what do you do with the contaminated stuff you drained out?

Emulsifiers
Cause a portion of the water content of the fuel to be suspended in the fuel. They then claim to burn off the water during operation. There still remains free standing water at the tank bottom to which the recommended treatment is, Drain The Tank, Pump Out The Water or Polish The Fuel. All of which are very costly and only partially effective. Can you even drain your tank? Now what do you do with the contaminated stuff you drained out?

Sentry Treatments
The adaptive hydrocarbon technology unique to Sentry treatments initiates the process of Micro Encapsulation in the presents of water. Sentry treatments will convert their volume and an equal volume of water to a combustible liquid allowing it to passed thru the entire fuel system and burn off through the combustion process. Consistent use of Sentry treatments will create a self cleaning fuel system, eliminating all Fuel / Water problems. No Tank Draining, No Pumping Out The Water, No Polishing The Fuel. 100% effective with NO additional cost.

LUBRICATION
Lubrication has always been an important issue with fuel. With Diesel engines the fuel is used to lubricate the fuel pumps, injectors, pressure regulators and other components. With Gasoline engines it is used to lubricate valve seats, piston rings and other components.

The lubrication value of fuel has been caught in a downward spiral due to the EPA mandated Emissions and the Refining process's that squeeze more fuel from the crude oil. And the latest is the mandated use of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel, ULSD. The process of removing the sulfur also eliminates the components of diesel that provide lubrication.

Now that engine manufacturers and fuel injection manufacturers have had to decrease the levels of emissions produced by their equipment they have been forced to increase fuel pressures and decrease tolerances of pumps, regulators and injectors. It is not uncommon to find fuel pressures that exceed 18,000 PSI and pumps that have tolerances less than 3 Microns.

1 micron =.000039 in. The human eye cannot see anything below 40 microns.

To keep these systems from destroying themselves lubrication has never been more significant.

Sentry Treatments Increase Lubricity  ASTM D6079  520 Microns
Untreated 538 Microns
Treated 267 Microns

The above table show the ASTM D6079 test minimum standard of 520 microns.

Two one gallon samples of premium diesel were purchased, one was treated with 7.56ml of Sentry.

This is a treatment ratio of 1 to 500. They were both delivered to INTERTEK Caleb Brett a world wide independent testing facility for the ASTM D 6079 Lubricity test.

The untreated Diesel FAILED the test.

Sentry treated Diesel improved lubricity by 101.4%.

This improvement in lubrication will save you thousands of dollars in maintenance and equipment downtime.

STABILITY
Fuel stability is another issue that has become more significant with today's new engines and emission requirements. Independent and University test have indicated that fuel starts to deteriorate about 30 days after in leaves the refinery. Today's refineries use a process called Catalytic Cracking to extract more usable fuels from the crude oil. The result of this process is a fuel that is inherently unstable. When the crude is cracked it leaves many parts of the hydrocarbon chains that make up diesel fuel with a open end, so to speak. This chain may have an open O, C or H molecule. As these open ends float around in the fuel they have a tendency to find other open ends that attract molecularly and reform into the crude component that was cracked to produce the fuel. These reformed molecules are usually Aromatics or Ashpaltines that are very coarse and abrasive to fuel system components. Also when this fuel is exposed to Oxygen the open ends freely attract the Oxygen molecules and bond to them creating sludge and varnishes. This can cause filter plugging and increased wear on fuel system components.

The adaptive hydrocarbon technology of SENTRY treatments effectively close all of these open ends with non destructive components and stop oxidation for extended periods of time.

The test that is used to determine fuel stability is the ASTM D2274 Oxidation Stability test. All refineries are required to treat the fuel to meet the standards of this test.

Sentry Treatments Increase Stability  ASTM D2274 2.5mg/100ml MAX  Particles

SENTRY Treated  1 mg/100ml  Particles

This is a 150% increase in fuel stability.

A little note on tanks and their construction

All tanks have what is referred to as an unusable percentage. With the exception of the aviation industry this amount is usually not published. Planes can't pull over when they run out of fuel. This percentage is usually between 1% and 2 % of the tank size. In a 100 gallon tank this could be 2 gallons. Not a lot of water in something 6 times bigger than your barbeque grill. If you were to add 99 gallons of E-10 Ethanol to a 100 gallon tank that only had 2 quarts of water and was below 70°F the entire fuel load could be ruined by Phase Separation. ( 100 gallons x .5% = .5 gallons.) This can happen anywhere along the distribution chain. In 1 gallon of gas this is less than a teaspoon.

This is an accumulative effect that can go undetected until the Ethanol / Water layer gets to the fuel pickup that is located just above the unusable volume. At this time your engine is trying to run on junk
